We travel often, several long-haul international trips a year, and for us, luggage has to be practical and durable. That is non-negotiable. I’m not too bothered what my suitcase looks like (as long as it’s not inner thigh pink). But then the Level8 Voyageur check-in rolled in quietly (as they do), and I was not ready for how good it looked. For the first time, we now have a suitcase that does the job and looks damn good doing it.
I’m glad to say my days of walking into an arrival hall with luggage having a worse jet lag than me are over. Level8 are sure to attract stares for all the right reasons.
For this review, I’ll specifically tell you about the Voyageur 26-inch with the six packing cubes, why I love it, and a few things I wish they had done differently.

The Perfect Luggage for Longer Trips
I had never heard of Level8 until they reached out to me. Up until then, we were perfectly fine dragging around our old black brick of a suitcase. It was about as stylish as a microwave on wheels, but it did the job. Then I clicked on level8cases.com, and saw the Voyageur. One look and I knew the black brick’s days were numbered.
The Voyageur Yellow Black limited edition is a looker. Sharp lines, hard shell, clean finish. I was actually excited to get a suitcase, which is not something I ever thought I’d say out loud. This is the kind of luggage we would happily spend our own money on. When I realised it came as a combo with packing cubes, I knew it would slot right into our travel style.
The 26-inch size is the sweet spot for us. Jin and I always share one large check in case, whether we are spending a weekend in Porto or travelling across Japan by train. With this size, we can easily last 10 days before we even think about laundry.
Jin has a saying: an organised suitcase is a happy suitcase. That is why the packing cubes sealed the deal. No more GAP bags for undies and socks, no more H&M bags for dirty clothes. We placed the order on a Thursday afternoon. By Friday, FedEx had already sent an email and text with a tracking number. On Monday morning, the suitcase landed at our door in Seoul. That is a fast turnaround.
The box itself was big and solid. Customs had opened it but taped it shut again, and everything inside was fine. The first glimpse of the suitcase came through a white cloth dust bag that is more than just packaging; it is actually handy for storing the case between trips.
And then the reveal. The Voyageur looked every bit as good as I had hoped. Sharp, stylish and solid. First impressions count, and this suitcase had me thinking sexy and durable in the same breath.
Design & Build Quality
Like I said earlier, the Voyageur is a strong, sexy beast of luggage. At the end of the day it is still just a suitcase, but there are a few details that set it apart from the sea of mediocre bags out there. The Level8 Voyageur suitcase feels premium in hand, and the 26-inch model in particular impressed me with both design and durability.
Materials: The outer shell is made from German Makrolon polycarbonate. Our limited edition black and yellow version is half bright yellow, half black, with a matte finish and a micro diamond texture. Not rough, not smooth, just enough grip to feel solid. We still have to see how they handle scratches in real life, but we suspect the texture won’t scuff or scratch easily.
Handle design: This might be the Voyageur’s best trick. Instead of a skinny telescopic handle down the middle, Level8 went wide. The handle runs the entire width of the suitcase.
That means the bottom of the main compartment is flat and easy to pack. It also makes steering effortless. I can guide the case with my pinky finger, although credit there probably belongs to the wheels.
Spinner wheels: Smooth as butter. With 360-degree movement, this case glides across airports without a fight. That is all most travellers need to know. For the technical crowd, the wheels use bi-metal bearings, polyurethane and Covestro AG polycarbonate. They are covered by a lifetime guarantee.
Lock and zippers: Every Voyageur comes with a TSA-approved lock, so airport staff can open it without breaking the bag. Instructions for setting or resetting the code are simple enough. The zippers feel strong and secure, as they should on a premium suitcase.
Interior & Packing Experience
Packing with the Level8 Voyageur 26-inch suitcase is straightforward. The interior is split into two main compartments with dual zipper dividers. One side is deeper than the other. As a couple sharing a single case, that means some negotiations on who gets the bigger half. No points for guessing who wins.
For solo travellers it will not matter, the split just makes it easier to keep things organised, separate or together.
The main compartment is deep with a lot of space. The deeper compartment comes with adjustable click-release straps to hold everything in place. There is also a wet-dry pocket built into the divider, perfect for toiletries or for that damp swimsuit if you squeezed in one last swim before heading to the airport.
In terms of space, this Voyageur 26-inch case hits the sweet spot for us. For a one-week trip, we can fit everything with room to spare for souvenirs. For two or three weeks on the road, we can still manage comfortably, especially since we usually do laundry every ten days. A single traveller should have no problem packing for a medium or long trip in this size. For two people sharing, it is plenty.
The stitching throughout the interior is excellent. It is consistent, with no loose threads, uneven lines or shortcuts. It feels solid, the kind of finish that will hold up after years of being packed and unpacked.
Packing Cube Travel Set (6 Pack)
I was genuinely excited about the Packing Cube Travel Set. There is something deeply satisfying about opening a suitcase and finding everything organised instead of a pile of clothes threatening to spill out.
The Level8 branded set of six cubes comes in different sizes, all in a smooth woodland coloured fabric that feels tough yet lightweight. Each cube has a handle, which makes it easy to pull one out of the suitcase without disturbing the rest.
The design is clever. A zipper runs along the side so you can expand the cubes to fit more or zip them tight to compress and save space. That kind of flexibility makes packing a lot less painful. You can separate clean clothes from dirty, keep socks and underwear in their own spot, and never again dig through a suitcase just to find a T-shirt at the bottom. The smaller ones could also be used in your carry-on or backpack.

Performance on the Road
We cannot give you the full story yet on how the Level8 Voyageur handles the grind of real travel. It would not be an honest review if we did not point out the few weak spots of the Level8 Voyageur. Overall we are very happy with it, and this is a suitcase we would have no problem buying ourselves. The pros clearly outweigh the cons, but here is the breakdown.

What I like about Level8 as a brand is that it feels like travel luggage for anyone. It’s classy and sexy without being stuck up. It’s premium but still relatively affordable for a luxury brand.
